31 Rue Cambon

Chanel has just launched its first magazine! If only I could get my hands on it! Oliver Zahm from Purple magazine has been working with Chanel to produce this extension of the brand. The meaning of the name '31 Rue Cambon' originates from Chanel's first store boutique - authentic and very effective. There has been many fashion magazines launched this year, but it is only those that have a strong distinctive look and emphasise on being long lasting instead of weekly throwaway magazines that survive. The Reccession is a challenging time to make new launches, but if your product is right and there is a honest need for it, then success will come.

Dreamy Works of Ellen Kooi

I stumbled across this beautiful image by Ellen Kooi in Hotshoe magazine (#154). Born in the Netherlands, she never studied photography but developed a fascination for the relationship between bodies and space. This image called siblini-rim (2006) is incredibly dream like, the young girl looks enchanting leaping through watery dismal landscape. As I am currently researching into launching a kids fashion magazine, this will be influencial for photoshoot stories.
